A graduate of the Juilliard School's drama division, Lisa Gay Hamilton's extensive theater credits
include "Measure for Measure" at the New York Shakespeare Theater Festival, opposite Kevin Kline and
Andre Braugher. She also starred in the original Broadway company of August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson".

Last year Hamilton earned the Ovation nomination for best actress for her work in Athol Fugard's play,
"Valley Song", at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. That performance, in the role of Veronica, also
won her an Obie Award, the Clarence Derwent Award and a Drama Desk nomination.

In addition to her starring role on "The Practice", Hamilton has been seen in "Law & Order" and "Homicide".
Film credits include Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown", and the independent releases, "Palookaville"
and "Drunks". Hamilton will next be seen on the big screen in the Jonathan Demme film, "Beloved", opposite
Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover. She spent the summer of '98 shooting Clint Eastwood's "True Crime" for
Warner Bros.
